I wanted to purchase a TV. I went on the HHGreg website and reviewed an opportunity to apply for a same as cash offer to buy a TV. I went through the purchase process and when it was time to get financing, there was no link to the application. So, I went back to the offer page and applied that way. I was approved and given an in store reference number. However, I could not use the reference number to pay online. I was also offered a - % discount by HHGreg if I signed up to get emails, I did that. I was also going to use that discount for my purchase. I then called Synchrony Bank to see if I could possible get my account number in order to use it to purchase the TV on line. They said it was not generated yet. Due to work, I was unable to get to the store by Saturday when the sale was going to end. I then received another email ( from HHGreg ) saying the sale was extended to Sunday. On Sunday, I went to the store. That morning, I checked the internet and the sale price was


changed to 24 month from 36. So, I left the store. I went home and went back on line. The price of the TV was $1100.00, so I went through checkout. When I got to the end, I called Synchrony Bank. The IVR matched my phone number, I answered all the security questions, and asked for my account number so I could purchase the TV. The rep transferrered me to another rep who refused to disclose the account number. She said that HHGreg prohibited them from giving me my account number. I told them that I was purchasing a TV and that I would be receiving it in 7 business days anyway. She still refused. I asked to be transferred back to CS and closed my account. I feel as though they were playing some bait and switch game. Synchony bank now has my personal information. I have a hit on my credit report and I 'm not going to use the credit I was offered. I 'll never do business with either company agian.
