First Credit Services Inc. Debt collection department,

Other (phone, health club, etc.) Cont'd attempts collect debt not owed Debt was paid Texas

I signed up for a membership at - and closed my membership in - 2015 & gt ; I went in person to the gym in -/-/- to submit written notice of cancellation and to pay off any remaining balance I owed. I paid with a credit card that day in person, and have a receipt showing that payment. I also have a paper they gave me that day which states that my membership was cancelled. Several months later, - 's - has now changed named to - - '' and is attempting to collect $43.00 from me, claiming that I did not pay final payment. I have notified the debt collector and provided receipts as evidence of my final payment - I also included names of the individuals at - - who closed my membership and accepted final payment. I sent letters to the credit collection agency, - 's and my letter to - 's was returned to sender. They are avoiding me and I suspect fraud. This will ruin my credit! I would like to file a complaint for membership cancellation fraud and fraudulent billing practices. I gave them a final payment already in - 2015 and was told I owed nothing further. yet, they continue to pursue me. I have read online that this is a standard scam of - 's - across the country!
