I have applied with Discover credit card on several occasions using the pre qualify link. Once you enter your information it comes back and says personalized offer for you. I have then completed the application to see if I qualify. The message then comes up denied. I then had a friend apply who has a much lower credit score than me and it still came back as this is the personalized offer for you. Once they applied it came back as not approved. I feel that discover is just getting people to apply while they already know the person will not be approved. This causes hard inquiries to post to individual 's credit file.
