Non-federal student loan Dealing with my lender or servicer New Jersey

I cosigned a loan for my daughter who lives -. Citibank was not sending statements or correspondence regarding this loan. When my daughter called to make a work out because she does not make enough money they denied her request. We made numerous attempts to work with them for a better payment plan with their suggestion. They would have us submit everything then say she was not eligible. We spoke to them in - of 2015 and said we would pay as much as we could each month and hope to consolidate the loans, they said we were NOT in danger of default as money has been paid. Last month we received a letter from a lawyer saying the loan was charged off. I am the cosigner and was never notified or given a chance to bring it current for my daughter. I have contacted them via phone and letter ( see attached ) they have been rude and unwilling to discuss this with me, only stating that a letter was sent. They can not provide any information as to how the letter was sent and why I was n't notified. They only informed us that they do not negotiate


went unanswered, when I phoned to inquire I was told there is nothing the bank is willing to do. I have a payment history and have been making payments which I thought were in addition to payments they were receiving which would have reduced the interest. Since Citibank has failed to notify me as the cosigner they did not give me the option to assume the loan as I committed to. I 'm very upset with the lack of response and support. More than - has been paid on this loan, it is not as if this loan was ignored. I should have been notified.
