Medical Cont'd attempts collect debt not owed Debt is not mine California

Since -, I have spoken with the collection agency, which admitted that they do not have any information ( social security number ) or otherwise that confirms this debt is mine. I have asked them to remove this debt from my credit report, but they have yet to do so. I am trying to purchase a home that is scheduled to close -/-/-, being told that I must address this debt.
