Amex Credit Card Complaint

Customer service / Customer relations

Amex Credit card department,

Customer service / Customer relations California

To whom it may concern, I 've been a member of the - program for years and hold an AME- Corporate Card so my name should be on file for quite some time already. I applied for a - American Express card but this is being refused after several attempts to confirm Social Security details. The issuer rejects evidence provided and keeps requesting additional proof. After - attempts to e-mail/upload an electronic version of my Social Security number ( the - not accepted, the - -upload- never available online ) AME- asked me to obtain an Original Letter from the SSA and mail to AME- HQ in - - - , Utah to have this processed ; only to find out ( on my, n'th call ) that the document has not been accepted and now require a Compulsed copy of my SS Card ( also by mail ). Thus, SS numbers should be accessible for the CC Issuer to check at any time, and confirm with the local agency. This process started with my application, probably 4 months ago. This is clearly unacceptable. There must be other ways to proof SS or credit worthiness ( current bank accounts, fraud lists etc ). Sincerely
