After years of heavy usage and flawless credit with my - - credit card with -, I was involuntarily transferred to Synchrony Bank. On - Synchrony charged my account a $25.00 late fee '' even though it was n't until the next day - that Synchrony emailed me instructions on how to register on their website to set up payment. So today I sent them payment in full - minus the $25.00 - and closed the account. But how many other poor consumers paid the $25.00 late fee '' because they could n't afford to close the account, or because they did n't see it among their legitimate account activity? It 's dishonest, bad business, and should be regulated against during involuntary transitions from bank to bank. Please help me stop Synchrony from engaging in this practice. Please help me stop Synchrony from reporting this alleged late '' payment on my credit report which is otherwise perfect. Thank you.
