JPMorgan Chase Credit Card Complaint

Credit determination

JPMorgan Chase Credit card department,

Credit determination Pennsylvania

To whom it may concern, I recently applied for a credit card at Chase.com ( Application Reference Number : - ) through an offer that was sent to me. I submitted the application online and was subsequently declined immediately without any credit report analysis from the bank. When I inquired about the reason of the the decline, I was told by the Chase Lending Department that the reason was Previous unsatisfactory relationship with us or - of our affiliates ''. When I asked the Executive Office of the bank to provide a specific reason as to why I would receive such a response, no clear answer was given. A staff named - - only said that a previous checking account I had was placed under review by the bank back in 2009, which I had no knowledge of the reason for the review. When I inquired why there was a review and asked for their findings, no reason or specific answer could be given. The account was closed by

never had a late payment in my life for all my payment obligations, and all my accounts have always been in good standing across all banks. I also never engage in unethical or unlawful practices which could cause banks/legal authorities to deny my banking rights. I have been able to open bank accounts and obtain credit through different financial institutions without any issues as recent as 1 month ago. Based on my knowledge, I know others with similar credit profile and financial resources have been approved with the same credit card product with ease, it is baffling and unfair that my application was declined. I am also expressing my concern that there is unjust discrimination involved in this credit card application. Under the Federal Equal Credit Opportunity Act, I am protected by Federal Law against discriminatory practices from banks when they determine extension of credit to me. Extension of credit affects people 's livelihood and discrimination has no place in such sector. Based on the reply that I have received so far from the bank, there is no specific objective reason as to why they declined my application other than Who I am ''. - - of Chase Bank further made a comment that even if I submit future credit card applications to the bank, I will continue to be declined with the same reason. I continuously strive to obtain a specific answer from the bank about the decline, wondering if there is any objective reason for such decline, the response I received continued to be questionable. Given the responses I have received, the bank is denying credit because of Who I am '' without a specific reason, not through any objective measures such as a credit profile/financial resources analysis. I am a law-abiding citizen without any criminal or civil legal records that could deny my banking rights. It is unfair that I am subjected to this type of discriminatory treatment from the bank, especially when I am applying for an extension of credit that is within my right and protected by Federal Law. I would like to present this case to your Party 's attention after I have sought answers from the bank without any success. Your Party 's assistance on this matter is deeply appreciated. Thank you very much.
