Amex Credit Card Complaint

Late fee

Amex Credit card department,

Late fee New Jersey

I had being a customer of American express credit card for 11 year with never being late once since - 2015 in which I thought the payment was due on - - 2015, but it was actually due on - - 2015. I was charge for a $27.00 dollar late fee for which I call customer service to see if they can waive since it was the first time in 11 years that it had happened and I had being always a good customer by paying on time and having my paid on full most of the time. The representative asked to make the payment of the balance which I did immediately and then she declined to waive the late fee. I ask to be escalated to a supervisor and the supervisor also declined waiving the late fee. Most of the credit card companies would give a - time pass for late fee since we are all humans and not computers and anyone can overlook the date of a payment. But American express I guess is in the business of profiting from late fee as well not matter what kind of customer you are. You can be great for 11 years and - slight minor mistake of being late for a payment for 7 days and they do not work with you. That is why I want to submit this complaint so people can see how American express treats its customers
