I am writing in regard to the account for the above named ending in -. I was recently made aware that certain charges to this card were placed in a pay over time '' option. This oiption was initiated in - 2011. Neither I nor my wife asked for this option. As a result there have been 15.25 % interest charges revolving since - 2011. Our fault was not paying attention to this account - which was set to auto pay full balance each month. The other result was that the minimum balance was being paid monthly. Neither I nor my wife asked for this option. - inquiries to the Security Division at American Express resulted in a response of the change was initiated online '' and that I was liable for the full amount. Additionally, there are several unauthorized charges on this card. They are marked in pink on the attached spreadsheet. I have opened an investigation. It is case # -. I NEVER authorized the opening of a pay over time '' option. I admit to never opening or examining statements. I will pay any charges incurred by my family. I am asking that I be credited for interest paid. I am currently in a tough position - stopping payment would result in poor credit. Making payments could possibly imply guilt. I am stuck - I must protect my family.
