A debt collection agency had applied a fraudulent debt that does not belong to me. This debt belongs to a person I have never heard of, from a town I have never lived, and in reference to a hospital I have never visited. I only first learned of this debt, when I applied for a student loan and was denied due to having a bill in collections ''. Since I am certain I have never had a delinquent bill in collections, I checked my credit report which listed this fraudulent debt, along with the identity of another person who may have used my social security number. The debt collection agency had never contacted me to verify this debt belongs to me, or to let me know that they were trying to collect payments on this fictitious debt. This has caused me immense harm as now I can not receive a student loan so that I may finish my last semester of college. When


could not speak to me '' because I was not the name on the account. They realized at this point that the information they have is fraudulent, and was applied to social security number incorrectly. I asked to speak to a supervisor, at this point I was hung up on. I called back and asked immediately for a supervisor, the supervisor told me I should try calling the hospital where the debt originated and then ended the call. I then called back the next day, explaining how this debt is fraudulent, was never verified, and that i expected the debt to be removed immediately, the man told me his supervisor would call me back that afternoon and never did. The name on my credit report ( from - & - ) lists the name and address of the person who apparently stole my identity, their address, their employer, and phone numbers. The - report also has my name incorrectly listed as having a middle initial of '- ', I - name.
