Sychrony Bank acting for Sam 's Club MasterCard processed - electronic bank payments for payment in full of charges. The - month Sychrony Bank rejected the electronic bank payment and then charged me a late fee and interest. When I called their customer service number I was subjected to an interminable call tree designed to prevent contact with a human. When I finally reached a customer service representative and tried to explain the problem they claimed it could n't happen and that I should pay my bills on time. I finally escalated to a supervisor that was fairly rude and again claimed that they did n't have a problem. - refused to contact their data processing unit and suggested I write their payments department. The supervisor finally gave me a credit for the late payment and interest charge as a courtesy '' when I threatened to cancel the card and not pay those charges. For the next two months I made alternative payment arrangements. This month, with the assurance of my bank ( - ) I again tried electronic bank payment. Again Sychrony rejected the payment. This time however I had scheduled the payment in plenty of time to avoid missing the due date. I again called the customer service number at Sychrony for Sams 's Club MasterCard to advise them of the problem I ran into the same problem as before. Denial that the problem could happen. I asked to speak to a supervisor that suggested I delete my payment information and enter it again in spite of the fact that they had processed - payments successfully using the same information. It appears That Sychrony Bank either has a technical problem they refuse to admit or they are committing fraud by purposely rejecting electronic payments in order to collect late fees and interest.
