U.S. Bancorp Credit card department,
Closing/Cancelling account North Carolina
After my husband was tragically killed, I canceled our - credit card issued by U.S. Bank, submitting the required death certificate. When I sold a car some months later, - - sent a partial premium refund of - to the last card used, which was this credit card. Even though the account had been closed, US Bank accepted the refund! Now they are requiring me to jump though hoops and submit testamentary letters to get the refund, which they promise within 90 days. I am moving in two months, and the post office will not forward mail from my - - because it is part of a larger entity and considered a business address. because I have no control over when US Bank will send this check, I have no assurance of receiving it after I move to California. 1 ) Credit card company should be prohibited from allowing any activity on an account that has been closed! 2 ) On active accounts, they should be required to pay interest at the same interest rate they are charging that particular customer on any credit balance in their possession, with an additional late fee of $35.00 if the refund check has not been mailed in 60-days. I am sick of their predatory practices.
