Synchrony Financial Credit card department,

On -/-/2016 I purchased a laptop computer as a birthday present for my grandson from Amazon.com. There was a note on the page that 12 months interest free financing was available on the page with the laptop. I clicked the link and in very large type there was a promotion for 12 months interest free financing on an Amazon branded credit card. I applied for the card and made the purchase because of this offer. When my first bill arrived there was an interest charge and an annual percentage rate of 26.49 %. I called the bank and was referred back to Amazon. After speaking with numerous people at Amazon I was told that I did n't sign up for the offer of interest free financing at checkout. I never saw where this was necessary and they have refused to remove these outrageous finance charges. I feel that this is at best misrepresentation and at worst consumer fraud.
