We met with an employee ( relationship banker ) at M & T who calculated our eligibility for a home equity line of credit to be $40000.00. She assured us that with our excellent credit processing was a mere formality. After delay in hearing about our line of credit I stopped into the bank and was told that she had " miscalculated '' and we were only eligible for $12000.00 line of credit.
