Synchrony Financial Credit card department,
Closing/Cancelling account Tennessee
A couple of months ago I had fraudulent activity in my bank account which in result forced me to change banking acct. numbers. This was of course a headache by having to change recurring credit card payments with my new account. A day before this happen a payment already had processed to be paid which was a recurring payment for Walmart/ Synchrony bank. I quickly tried to contact customer service to informed them of what happen. The customer service rep. advised me to send in a copy of the bank report concerning the theft in my account, which I did and that they would honor that. I quickly went into change the recurring payment and cancel out the old bank account number, and made a payment right after to clear up the payment that was returned. Obviously the next payment was due, the system was still set on recurring payment of the old banking acct. number, ( which I changed ) which cause the payment to be returned again. Walmart/Synchrony bank closed my account. I begged and pleaded with them by chat and writing letters to the president to please not close my account. I explained that I have been faithful of my payments due ever month until this tragedy happen. This was not my fault, I see if I was a person that did this on purpose, but that was not the case. I understand that a lot of consumers have complained about the same situation that I am going through. I have other credit cards with Synchrony bank and they did not give me this problem like the Walmart account. What is the problem? I sent in evidence, I tried to correct the payments and they still closed my account. Something needs to be done!!!!! I understand they have rules, but my situation did not apply to the rules and had evidence which should have been waived. This is not right!! And I am not going to give up fighting!
