U.S. Bancorp Credit card department,
Forbearance / Workout plans New York
I am writing this letter to inform you that I have lost my job on - 2015, and I am having difficulty paying all of my debts each month. This is a temporary condition as I decided to improve my skills by going back to school to get the - license. I suspect that I am going to have trouble paying my debts for the next year as I have depleted most of my savings in my school cost, licensing cost, and personal living expenditures. I want to do everything I can to keep my accounts current and stay out of collection. Therefore, I am requesting that the interest rate on my account be lowered significantly, and if I could make interest payments only for the next 6 months ( I should be working and financially stable again ) so that my monthly payment will be lowered, and I can continue making my monthly payments without defaulting.
I would like this payment reduced As Soon As possible so that I can continue to pay all of my bills and living expenses on time and current in this time of economic hardship '' I contacted the company many times after the last communication where they promised to provide some help by modifying the terms of the card agreement on -/-/2015 to alleviate my hardship, but when I call they said that no notes were made in the account so no help could be provided, please see attached and below their original response. " Your account may be eligible for a payment relief program, which is designed to save you money and help you pay down your credit card account balance by lowering your Interest Charges and eliminating applicable Late Payment Fees. The hardship-qualification process requires that you provide additional information to determine your eligibility for assistance ; additionally, enrollment in a payment relief program would typically close your account to new transactions. If you are interested in this program, we ask that you contact our Collections Department at - for further review ''
