The collector " - '' who was working on behalf of Wakefield and Associates, contacted me looking for my spouse. Without offering my name he then asked if I was " - - ''. I merely had to say yes. He then provided me my address and before I could even agree to any more than being - -, he began to explain who he was and why he was calling. He provided the debt amounts and the different institutions the were with as well as the dates they were incurred. I did not have to provide any information of my own to confirm my identity. Merely say yes to everything provided to me. I than asked for a supervisor. Once on the phone with the supervisor " - '', I explained the scenario and the supervisor took no interest in the violation. At that point they proceeded to attempt to collect on the debt. I asked what they would be doing in regards to the violation they stated they could not take action until they listened to the recording. I simply had to verify a street name, not even an address with the supervisor to confirm that I was who I said I was. I was even provided the street name. I asked them if there was any further information they needed to verify my identity " - stated that street name was all they needed. - asked if I wanted them to listen to my recording and then they could contact me back, to which I agreed.
