Closing/Cancelling account California
I recently was approved for American Express Credit Card for my business. I received it and activated the card but when i attempted to use it, it kept declining. I contacted Amex as to what is going on and they stated it was due to my " Personal Account '' which i have never had with amex. I kept asking them to verify the information on the account and come to find out Amex has linked my twin brothers delinquent account - - to my account. Yes we are brothers but i 'm not responsible for his debts. I asked them how this could have happened and they could n't explain to me anything other than stating that it was my account, i told them no it 's not my account. I had asked them to confirm the address, social and my business phone number. They claimed this issue to delink the accounts is on the " vice presidents desk '' to have the accounts delinked and that would take 48 hours which was 2 weeks ago. I kept on calling to get this resolved but it has not been resolved. I just want them to delink my account from my brothers account, he is a grow - year old man and is responsible for his debts and i should not have to be punished for someone else debts. I want to make sure this is not being reported to my credit and i want this fixed asap.
