I was robo called by a - party ( The Student Loan Help Center ) to help me with my student loans. As a - in a - - district, I knew I was soon eligible for up to $5000.00 loan forgiveness. Assuming that was why these people contacted me, I agreed to pay a one time fee of $590.00 dollars so this company ( who I thought was affiliated with the department of ed. ) could alter my repayment program. Apparently this service is offered for free directly through my lending house ( - ). I have since worked with them to not only enroll in a new type of payment program, but also to file a complaint with them as well about these poor/unethical business practices. I 've since filed a complaint with the - and have contacted my -. I would like to be reimbursed for services that were A ) never necessary and B ) never rendered.
