U.S. Bancorp Credit card department,
On - -, 2016 I logged in to - and submitted credit limit increase application. The application did not ask for a social security number and there was no notice whatsoever of a potential credit inquiry ( See attached screen shots ). I have multiple cards from other financial institutions and some require and inquiry ( either hard or soft ) while others do n't. A " soft '' pull does not impact credit score, a " hard '' pull does. Their inquiry was a hard pull. I was under the impression that this process would either need a soft inquiry or none as there was nothing specific in the application. While going through this process with my other credit cards, they all specified what kind of inquiry would be required. I previously contacted Elan financial Services and asked them to contact - and have this inquiry removed immediately as it was unauthorized. My request was denied. I mentioned it to them that It would be beneficial to your customers and their organization to update the verbiage on the online application so it clearly states that a " hard '' inquiry will be required. Appreciate your attention in this matter. I have exhausted all other options to try and get this addressed. I have called multiple times, contacted transunion and Elan Financial Services in trying to get this resolved.
