Other bank product/service Account opening, closing, or management Washington
I have an IRA at US Bank, and they issue account statements for my type of IRA account only once per year. I 'm trying to close this account and transfer the money in my US Bank IRA to an IRA that is held by a different financial services company. I 'm working with the other company to complete the transfer process. To complete the transfer, the other company requires a statement from US Bank that is dated within the past 90 days. This requirement seems reasonable to me. I recently spoke with a US Bank representative by phone, and I also visited a branch several weeks ago. US Bank considers my months-old account statement to still be the current statement, and says that I 'll need to wait until my next yearly statement is generated, which will happen months from now. US Bank refuses to give me a current account statement that is dated within the past 90 days. As a consumer, I believe it is my right to receive account statements more frequently than once per year.
