Synchrony Financial Credit Card Complaint

Identity theft / Fraud / Embezzlement

Synchrony Financial Credit card department,

Identity theft / Fraud / Embezzlement Maryland

I received a credit card in the mail at home which is described as a replacement credit card and along with the credit card with my name was another credit card in the name of another individual for the same account. This other individual is not a member of my household and is the name of someone I worked with 10 years ago. The credit card also is a membership card for Sams Club. The membership cards that are authorized by my under my account are for myself and my wife. This recent mailing of credit cards did not contain a credit card for my wife but included a card for this other person with the exact same account number. In the mailing there is no contact information for Sams Club or its credit card issuer and only a phone number to activate the new credit cards. I did not want to activate the cards I wanted to report this error and potential fraud on the part of this former co-worker. As there was no contact information included within the credit card mailing I found a phone number on Sam 's Club website and dialed that number. After navigating my way through voice mail - I finally was at a point where I was on hold, still on hold to report this fraud and cancel this card and get the name of this other person off of my credit account. I have now been on hold for 35 minutes attempting to report this fraud. My complaint therefore is twofold, first Sam 's Club is making it very difficult to report fraud by hiding its contact information and secondly once you have a phone number, you are left on hold. Secondly I want this other person removed from my account.
