Disclosure verification of debt not given enough info to verify debt
Kimball, Tirey & St. John LLP Debt collection department,
I do not know Disclosure verification of debt Not given enough info to verify debt California
On - - 2016, I received a letter in the mail from law firm Kimball , Tirey & St. John LLP stating they were collecting a debt on behalf of another company. On - - 2016 I mailed a letter to the law firm requesting debt validation. However, on - -, 2016 the law firm already reported the alleged debt to all of the major credit reporting agencies before I had the chance to respond to their letter and request debt validation. According to federal law, 15 U.S. code 1692 ( g ) ( b ) it specifically states that a collection agency can not report a debt to the CRA 's until the debt has been validated. It also states that a debtor has 30 days from notification to request validation of the debt and the collection agency has to send proof that the debt is indeed valid. The law firm purposely disregarded my request for validation and purposely broke this statute that protects consumers and this is a direct violation under the FCRA which is punishable to a tangible extent under this law.
