Outcome : I have a debt in my business name. All of the collection letters have been sent to my business. The collection company reported the debt to the - reporting bureaus while I was refinancing my mortgage. My credit score dropped from - to -, costing me an additional $10000.00 to close the loan. Details : I disputed the information with the - credit bureaus. After a reported investigation, the credit bureaus notified me that information reported was validated by the collection agency. I closed on my loan and received a written letter from the collection agency that " they made a mistake '' and the debt did not personally belong to me. However, as indicated under the outcome, the erroneous reporting of the business debt to my personal credit report resulted in $10000.00 plus in additional out of pocket expenses to close my loan.
