Synchrony Financial Credit card department,
Transaction issue North Carolina
I had a Banana Republic Visa card through Synchrony Bank. In - 2016, I had to cancel the card because Synchrony could not tell me how to stop the unauthorized auto payments that kept occurring. They told me I must have set up the auto pay through my bank which is impossible because I have never once use that feature for any online bill pay. When I cancelled the card, there was a little over $60.00 credit that they were supposed to have refunded. I still have not received the refund. I opened another card in -/-/-. Last weekend, I logged into my online account to make a payment on the new card and saw a balance due on the cancelled card of a little over $70.00. I called to find out how charges were posting in -/-/- to a card cancelled in -/-/- and no one could tell me. They said they would have to send it to their fraud department. Today, I received an email from Synchrony stating that the transaction being disputed was not found. I logged into the account and it is now showing an approximately $42.00 credit. I called to inquire and still, no one can tell me what is going on. I am hoping that the CFPB can assist in getting this issue resolved.
