In the letter dated - -, -, American Express has informed me about the closure of the American Express Delta SkyPoints credit card effective - -, -. This credit account was opened on - -, -. This action, initiated by American Express, will negatively affect my credit score because of the two reasons : ( 1 ) closure of the existing account, and ( 2 ) decrease of the total amount of available credit. After speaking with American Express on - -, -, I requested to transfer this account to a different credit card product to avoid the anticipated negative effect on my credit report. American Express declined and offered no solution. A formal complaint with American Express was filed on - -, -.
