The Amazon.com Store Card, provided by Synchrony Bank, does not explicitly tell the consumer that a fee is charged every month REGARDLESS of usage. My account was sitting idle and unused and I was not worried about it - I had n't made a single purchase since opening. But come to find out when I log in a few weeks ago, I 've been getting charged $1.00 per month, missing those $1.00 payments so getting hit with late fees for all of them, and then all of those $1.00 charges and late fees accruing interest. It 's totally wild for this to be happening on a card I have not used once and did not feel the need to monitor - I have several other cards I do n't use, and this does not happen ... Synchrony/Amazon have reversed the late fee charges on my account, but the blemish is NOT gone from my credit report, and is still hurting me severely.
