Last week my wife, -, submitted a complaint and that case number is -. Yesterday we were notified that American Express could not respond to that complaint because the primary card holder, me, or an authorized representative was not the complainant. However, my wife is my authorized representative and American Express has been negotiating with - for several years. At best, American Express not recognizing my wife as my authorized representative is disingenuous and an act calculated to make a legitimate complaint against their unfair credit practices more difficult. By submitting this complain, I am adopting every and all statements made in case number -. American Express told us we would have our traditional - and our points reinstated once we fulfilled our repayment agreement. AmEx expressly stated : as an inducement for your successful completion of the repayment agreement, we will reinstate your traditional green card and return all membership points. Every conversation with AmEx was recorded AND AmEx acknowledges the terms are in the notes in our file. We paid AmEx in full at 0 % interest because of their promises. We incurred charges in excess of $2000.00 for interest charged on other obligations because of the inducement made by AmEx. Now AmEx has taken the position that the traditional - is not going to be reinstated because of our poor - score. AmEx never told us that there was any condition to the reinstatement of the card other than the successful completion of the repayment agreement. Because I know my - score is poor, I would never have entered into the repayment agreement with AmEx with the terms we did - - I would have paid more on my high interest cards.
