Army and Air Force Exchange Service Credit card department,
Identity theft / Fraud / Embezzlement California
A fraudulent credit account was opened in my name subsequent to the - computer hack. I closed the account as soon as I found out, first with a phone call, then with a follow-up letter per the instructions given in the phone call. Months later, I received a collection letter. I replied to this letter, including the documented account closure and envelopes of mail pertaining to the fraudulent account which my alert postal carrier had re-routed to my address. My complaint is that I requested all documentation pertaining to the fraudulent account opened in my name, citing my rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Military Star has not complied with this request. Also, I do not know whether AAFES plans to pursue payment of the account ( especially since they send mail to an incorrect address - I 'm lucky my postman delivered at least some of the Military Star mail to me. )
