Closing/Cancelling account Oregon

I 've had - cards with US Bank and their subsidiary Elan Financial for several years : Account - - - - Account - 2000 - - Account - - - - My accounts have ALWAYS been paid on time, and I usually would pay off the balance each month. My credit history is perfect with a 10 % or less credit utilization and a -+ FICO credit score. I recently requested an increase on my credit limit so that if I make a large purchase it wo n't take more than 10 % of my credit line and hurt my credit utilization, in turn hurting my score. Instead of just declining my request for an increase, they responded stating they were closing all three of my accounts immediately because they said I have enough cards open and too many inquiries.


I told them over half my accounts are just store cards like - or - where you get - % off for purchasing with the card ; then I pay off the statement balance when received. I never keep a balance on store cards and just use them for their store discounts. Despite my pleading to keep at least my oldest account open, they 've closed all - cards. This has hurt me as a consumer by lowering my overall credit history 's " age of accounts '' as well as decreased the available credit, in addition to deleting all the award points I had accrued in using their cards over the years. If I had been late, over limit, or high credit utilization, then I could understand the closure of my accounts. However I 've done nothing and would like them to reopen all, or at least my oldest account.
