Amex Credit card department,
We recently experience credit card discrimination from - -. As a consumer, my daughter applied for an - - - card and was approved and granted me the right to be an authorized users and manager of her account. The credit card application specifically states : Include all income available to you. If under age -, include only your own income. Income includes wages, retirement income, investments, rental properties, etc. My daughter is - and recently completed her - - in - - from - University and this was also duly noted on the application that she was a student. During the application process, she stated I could be an authorized user on the account and - requested my SSN and granted me to be an authorized user without stipulation on who utilizes the card the most. In turn, we both received a card and began to utilize the cards, accordingly. Also, with my daughter 's awareness, she was told what I was utilizing the card for and how it was being paid back. Again, we just received the card end of - 2016 with a closing statement on - - which makes the bill ultimately due on - -.
my number. I immediately returned the call and she stated the account was being put on hold and needed to speak with my daughter. I stated that I was the account manager and can get my daughter on the phone to discuss the matter and she stated I could not be on the phone with my daughter while she discussed the account. I, in turn, had my daughter to return her call yesterday afternoon who was tormented, patronized, and illegally questioned regarding certain discriminatory comments received from - - and the call was recorded. After the continuous probing, undermining comments were made towards her mother, she stated that my daughter needed to send 2 recent bank statements to have the account reviewed for release. I sent the bank statements in on yesterday afternoon and was also later informed by another associate on yesterday within the Financial Review team that it was incorrect for - - to state she could not allow me to be on the phone if my daughter stated that " I would like to have my mother on the phone while we discuss the account and authorize her to be apart of the conversation ''. First of all, she questioned " why did n't your mother apply '', " are you working '', and other sly discriminatory comments were made by - -. My daughter in turn stated more than one occasion during the she authorized me to utilize my authorized card for various transactions. She constantly probed her even after stating send in the bank statements. Its as if she was longated the conversation with my daughter to get unnecessary information from her regarding her mother who works full-time and makes a - income. Her unnecessary scrutiny was a blatant discrimination towards - minorities. Also, I made another call to - - on yesterday after she spoke with my daughter and left a voice mail, since she did not pick-up. I stated that I did not like the way she spoke to my daughter on the phone and some of the questions were unnecessary and requested a call back. She called me back this morning utilizing with retaliatory comments, since I left her a message about the comments made on the phone yesterday with my daughter. Initially, she was told to send 2 bank statements for the release of the account and on this morning after I stated to her she was discriminating against us because we were -, she retaliated again with credit discrimination comments towards me.
