I have been trying since - to get Wells Fargo Bank to resolve an issue regarding a payment on my personal loan. The payment was made in a branch and was applied to my home equity loan account in error. I did not realize the error until I was contacted by the personal loan department to let me know that my payment was past due. When speaking with them, I looked at the receipt and realized the payment was applied to my home equity loan. The representative with Wells Fargo indicated that he would get with the home equity department and have the payment reversed and applied to the personal loan account.
At this point, I contacted both the personal loan and home equity departments who promised the issue would be resolved. I even received a letter from a senior representative to let me know, the bank had resolved the issue an the bank was waiving the late charge that occurred on the loan. After the personal account was not updated and my account was 25 days past due, I made another payment to keep it from going over 30 days and being reported to the credit bureau. During this process, I have spoken to a representative from Wells Fargo 's home equity and personal loan departments at least once a week. After being so angry about this whole process and with no resolution in site, I decided to pay the loan off. I applied a payoff to the personal loan only to be contacted by Wells Fargo to let me know the payoff was short. I told them when they could get the payment that should have been posted to the loan applied, they could deduct the difference and send me a check for the balance. This was two weeks ago and the issue has still not been resolved.
