Medical Disclosure verification of debt Not given enough info to verify debt Nevada
I 'm dealing with Allied Collection Services over a medical debt from -. Under threat of the debt being reported to the credit agencies, which could result in me losing my professional license and my ability to receive the business loan I need to start a business five years in the making, I agreed to start making monthly payments with the stipulation I not accept responsibility for the debt. I had been keeping track of the balance owed and called to reconcile my balance sheet at which time I learned $2800.00 in collection fees and interest had been added to my account, more than three times the legal limit of - + the prime rate of the largest Nevada bank. Allied claimed the creditor added it prior to sending it to collection, the creditor said they add on what Allied tells them to in order to cover the cost of hiring Allied to collect the debt. Over 45 days ago I asked both Allied and the original creditor for a copy of any payment agreement I signed agreeing to pay this amount of interest and fees. Allied said the original creditor would have it if something like that exists. The creditor says the payment agreement I signed is somewhere in storage and it would take two weeks before they MAY be able to retrieve it. I called again today, 47 days after the original request and they said they had n't gotten it yet and to give them another two or three weeks. Allied wants another payment immediately. - -, the rep for Allied said not making a payment will result in the credit agencies receiving the debt, my payment agreement becoming void, and a lawsuit filed against me for the balance. Also, as you can see on the documents I 've attached, most of the $3500.00 I 've paid toward the debt has been put toward interest and fees instead of to the principal as mandated by Nevada statue -
