I was contacted by AFNI collection company thru a letter stating that they were willing to accept a settlement on my - account for half the original amount I paid the settlement amount and then requested a letter stating that I was paid in full and no longer owed any more money, I was told by the AFNI customer service that it takes 120 days for their system to update and I would not receive any letter until that time but only 7 days after I paid the settlement amount I receive an alert from - stating I have a change in my credit I was sure it was AFNI updating my account to - balance. yes, the new information was from AFNI but it was not reporting that I have a - balance AFNI is now reporting that I still owe the half they agreed to settle with me and that my high balance was only the settlement amount and I still owe - I also received a letter today from AFNI stating that they are still trying to collect the other half of the debt. I feel that AFNI deceived me by sending me letters stating that they were willing to settle my debt and once I paid the settlement amount they are continuing to try and collect the balance, I am seeking to find assistance as to hold AFNI accountable for their deceitful practices.
