Medical Cont'd attempts collect debt not owed Debt was paid Illinois

I had a hospital bill that was paid late by my insurance company. The debt was sent to a collections agency that has agreed that the debt is not due, when I speak to them on the phone, after I sent the proof it was paid. They continue to keep a Collection on my Credit report that is lowering my credit score. I 've tried to dispute it with the credit reporting agencies but the system of disputing a debt is useless since they do n't confirm anything.
