After making what I thought was a payment in full of my monthly Sychrony Bank - - credit card, which I have through Sam 's Club, I was surprised to find that only the minimum payment had been processed. I knew that this was a mistake, perhaps on my part. So I went back to the website to make the remaining payment. What I discovered through experimentation was that the Synchrony Bank payment site is slamming customers by changing their intended payment amount. It works like this : Once you choose an amount to pay, the next option on the page is the payment date. If the user chooses to pay early or change the payment date to any date but the pre-select due date, the system will change the date and, then will also change the amount paid to the minimum payment. As a result, unless the user is very vigilant, they are making the minimum payment instead of the intended full payment. Obviously, this will generate interest income for Synchrony Bank if the user does not notice the problem before the due date.
