Synchrony Financial Credit card department,
Delinquent account North Carolina
I am filing compliant to Synchrony Financial Banana Republic Credit Card regarding reporting me as past due to my credit report. I did not receive bills for 2 months and all of a sudden on -/-/2016 I receive a bill indicating I was past due. I promptly called, paid the bill in full and was refunded the late fees BUT they would not acknowledge there was a billing error they made as I had not received it through e-mail or paper. In addition, they have converted this account 3 times and often with me being unaware until I have swiped the card at the Banana Republic store. I have never been past due on ANY account and never past due with this product EVER. The representative refused to help. I am frustrated that some banks, not all, are taking advantage of consumers by being unfair, deceptive and abusive. All this happens as well while I am refinancing my mortgage. What also bothers me is that they never even called me to indicate I was past due or sent specific e-mails indicating I was. This just seems like an opportunity for this bank meet financial goals by charging late fees and hoping the consumer wo n't follow up on it. I am at my last straw and a very frustrated consumer.
