Wells Fargo & Company Consumer Loan department,
Installment loan Managing the loan or lease Indiana
My furnace died on a frigid day in - - and the - company offered financial help on the replacement with Wells Fargo. One year later I noticed a $2400.00 interest charge on my monthly WF statement. WF has refused to waive any of the interest even though I executed a full payment using fund balance transfer by another lender 5 days after the 1 year interest free deadline. I overlooked the deadline ( my bad ) but this transaction over penalizes the situation. I made monthly payments the first year on time and the Urgent Statement message ( - - statement ) notifying me of the expiring special terms is easily missed ( I think WF knows this ). I did n't see the problem until the - - statement showed whopping interest. WF said the other lender transaction will be too late to reduce any of the interest. I did n't have $5400.00 in cash to pay the full balance when I asked WF to waive or reduce interest. I started working another job in - to pay for the furnace. Reasonable business practices like this push people who are living pay check to pay check even deeper into financial hardship. Staff at WF say they 're just following accepted business practices and they have no flexibility to make more reasonable decisions. Some people who are financial strapped ca n't keep up because of situations like this. I was late 5 days on full payment ( not even a month ), one month late of $2400.00 is about $200.00, and I 'd be agreeable to pay that because I made a mistake, but $2400.00 is not fair for the circumstances.
