Title loan Charged fees or interest I didn't expect Tennessee

I am a - year old female and on -/-/2015, due to an emergency, I made the biggest mistake of my life. I took out a title loan on my car at 'check into cash '' for - in - , TN. I have paid every month since then on time. This past week, the last time I paid I was told that balance was -, so after receiving my income tax refund, I called to ask what my balance was and was told it was - rather than the -. This was all the money I had. I have paid to this date - and do not understand why I still owe -. If I pay based on their payment plan, I will have paid around - for a - loan. I do not understand why this is legal. It seems so outrageous, but at the time I did not realize how much I would be taken advantage of. I wonder how such our legislators would allow such a business to operate. I am so depressed and despondent over this costly mistake, but do n't know what to do at this point. My car is an older car but I do not want to lose it. Can you please help?
