Synchrony Financial Credit card department,
I allowed a store card from Amazon.com to become delinquent. The original card was issued through GE Capital. Amazon now uses Synchrony Bank. The last transaction on the account was in - of -. A resolution was reached through a debt collector ( - - - of - AZ ) on - -, - and the account was settled. A confirmation number was issued ( - ) and the agreed amount was taken from my checking account. This week, mid - -, a letter came from a different debt collector ( - - -, - of - IL ) demanding payment for this account which was already settled and satisfied. Amazon.com and Synchrony have both told me to resolve the account with the original debt collector. However, the original agency ( - - - ) is no longer in business. I have no faith in Amazon.com. I fear that they will continue to try and collect a debt which has already been satisfied.
