Credit monitoring or identity protection Billing dispute New York
I am a -, currently unemployed. I was looking at options to finance my education, and wanted to know if I had enough ( any ) credit built to take out a student loan without my parents cosigning. My free credit report did not display whether I had any credit established, so I paid - $1.00 for a full credit report. I got the report and saw that I did n't have any credit built so I would have to get my dad to cosign. Flash six months later, I recieve a text message from my bank telling me that I have overdrawn my account. It could n't have been possible, because I have n't been using that card. I looked at my bank statement and noticed that I have been receiving monthly reoccurring charges of $19.00 since - 2015. - automatically signed me up with out me knowing to a monthly subscription with TransUnion. I had no idea this was happening, and the customer service department was extremelt insensitive when I explained the situation. I do not have an income, and I do not have any credit for them to monitor. It was disingenuous to sign me up unknowingly, especially for a purchase that was not authorized buy the card owner. They will not refund me. I want the company to be held accountable for what they did.
