Amex Credit card department,
Closing/Cancelling account Florida
The American Express credit card from - has decided to close all the present accounts and transfer to a - Credit Card. Upon closing the accounts ( Nationwide ) - consumers will be subjected to a hit on their credit report for American Express closing these accounts. There is nothing any of the - American Express credit card holders can do. As soon as their cards are closed ( By -/-/2016 ) all consumers will have their credit scores negatively impacted by closing of these accounts. There is nothing that can be done. I tried to keep the account open, they will not and no other consumer will either. This is a business decision done by American Express which will negatively impact - consumers credit scores/reports ( including my own ) by closing this credit card account and opening the new account. I contacted American Express and they indicated that there is nothing they can do and that each person can contact all major credit companies and dispute this on their own, which is not only something an unsophisticated consumer will not do, but since Amex is closing the accounts, nothing they will do either. This is an engregious practice negatively impacting the credit scores of a a large number of consumers for the whim of American Express.
