Amex Credit card department,
Credit line increase/decrease Wisconsin
American Express arbitrarily lowered my credit limit from $11000.00 to -, only $190.00 above my current balance of $4300.00, effectively making the card unusable for future purchases, and based upon the next billing payment, would effectively force me to go over the credit limit. This not only affects current spending ability, but seriously lowers my credit score since debt to available credit is now a much higher percentage. Credit card companies should not be able to do this to hurt consumers. American express did this to me once before back in 2008 during the financial crisis. I have never been late or missed a payment on ANY of my credit cards or other credit related instruments in 17 years, the length of my credit history.
