Amex Credit card department,
The Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) allows the consumer to get a free credit report if an application is denied. However, the consumer can only get a free report from the credit reporting company that provided the report used by by th lender to make its decision. We were denied credit when American Express cancelled our account. Under law, American Express should have properly provided instructions for us as to how to request our report from - or from - or more of the other national credit reporting companies upon which American Express relied in its decision to not reinstate our account, which is legally of the same significance as an application for credit being denied and is therefore subject to this legal requirement. American Express has not done this. Furthermore, our account was cancelled in retaliation for us exercising our legal rights through FCPB. Our account was never charged interest, and all late charges were reversed. This shows we were never late, and the truth is we had a valid dispute that was never properly investigated. All we ever asked for was a line by line reconciliation of a total that was greater than actual charges that
believe American Express closed this account wrongfully so it did not have to pay out on our rewards points, and but for the crediting of the account of the late charge days before their closing of the account ( an admission we had a valid legal dispute ) we would not have made certain substantial charges on the account, and would have used cash instead. Also, it seems the complaint I made about this same thing on -/-/2015 has disappeared from this complaint process, and it was not a double complaint - it was a first on the above subject.. So what happened to my complaint of -/-/2015? And - more thing, the only way I ever get a response from American Express is through their response to this complaint process, and as you can see they state my letters will only be filed and not responded to by American Express - proof again that American Express has refused to give us any answers about the fraud in this account from which they have benefited directly through collection thereon.
