Home mortgage discharged in bankruptcy. Debt collection company sends collection letter. I call and notify them debt is discharged in bankruptcy. Debt collection company tells me I am still responsible for penalties and fees. They refuse to accept validity of bankruptcy discharge. Internet research reveals this company is running a well known scam to illegally collect money that is not owed to them. They are running a con that relies on uniformed consumers fearing them.
