Amex Credit card department,
In - 2014 I contacted American Express because of health issues affecting my ability to pay my account in the manner I had through the previous thirteen years and I ask for concessions to allow me time to adjust my payment schedule so I could recover and AM- purportedly granted my request and allowed me to pay a reduced amount starting with my - payment. In this program I was to pay $270.00 per month for - account and $ 1.1 % per cent per month of the unpaid balance on the other account with the $270.00 put on automatic withdrawal from my checking account and the other was paid monthly by direct payment from my bank also. This went on for five months as I noticed the balances were not declining as it should and I called AM- and questioned why this was so. There reply was that there was also a 9.9 % charge added to the payments. I told them that an inactive account should not be charged interest. Then they instructed me that I had forfeited on my agreement with them and my credit would show a nonpayment disclosure to my credit report. I then tried to talk to someone in authority and could not connect with anyone. After repeated attempts I gave up trying and I hired a company called - - - of -, OK to negotiate and settle on my behalf they were unable to reach any kind of agreement with AM- and now I am in the process of my money being refunded and I need help with these accounts and to allow me to repay without a judgment being leaned against me.
