I am currently a customers with -, service that pays toll roads on your behalf. When my debit card had to be destroyed due to fraud they were unable to process my payment. They turned the debt over to Municipal Service Bureau, a private debt collection company. They issued me a bill and I paid it. They then issued me further bills after this payment. I disputed this payment both by their internal methods and by a certified letter saying that I did not understand these charges and that I believed that they were in the wrong to issue further late charges as a debt collection agency. I contacted them regarding this letter and was told they had no record of my debt. Later, I received another notice that payment was due. I told them that I would not pay the late fees, but offered to pay the original tolls. They would not accept this resolution and now have a total due for me of $200.00. The original tolls total : $28.00. I have made clear to them that I will not pay this and am now seeking other resolution options.
