Other (phone, health club, etc.) Improper contact or sharing of info Talked to a third party about my debt California
I had shopped a - and had a couple of inexpensive items on value-pay. When I updated my credit card information they did not process it correctly and then, with out my permission ( I have no idea how they even obtained the phone number ) they called and harassed my - year old parents because of it, causing damage to my relationship. My credit card was changed out by my bank because there was fraud on the account. I had to wait for the new card to arrive. My phone kept ringing and then the person would hang up when I answered. I finally did a reverse look up to find out it was Central Portfolio Control/- that was calling. I called them back and told them I had updated the card, which had arrived by then. But they still kept calling more than once a day. Two days ago I went to my parent 's home and found out that Central Portfolio Control/- had been calling my - year old parents and harassing them all week too. All of this over missed value payments of $45.00 that was less 15 days over due, and after I had updated the information several days before. They have no right to violate my privacy by calling and harassing my - year old parents. I 'm a married - year old woman that lives in a different city than my parents. I have never used my parents phone number or given Central Portfolio Control/- permission to contact them. I live in California and this is not legal in that state. There is no way they can undo the personal damage that they did to me by violating my privacy in that way. All of this over the transfer of a credit card and $45.00.
