Checking my Experian credit report last week, I noticed that there was " key derogatory '' on the report. A collection agency, AFNI , Inc, filed a key derogatory report stating that I have an outstanding balance of $1800.00 for a debt owed to - -. However, I have never had any type of service or business relationship with Dish network. I have disputed the report with all - credit reporting agencies. I also called AFNI to try to clear this issue up. After spending all weekend and today ( Monday -/-/2015 ) filling out online forms and waiting on hold to speak to a representative with the various credit reporting agencies I am still being told by AFNI that I have to call Dish Network to " PROVE '' that this is not my debt. AFNI gave me the address of the residence where the service was installed and the birth date of the person that ordered the service. The address that they gave me and the birth date were not mine. Both of these pieces of information are on my credit report. So, AFNI should have known from the start that this was not my debt.


2. I should not have to file a dispute or contact - - because of obvious errors that AFNI made in reporting this debt as mine. 3. - - should not be allow to sell their bad debt to AFNI or any collection agency if they have not verified the identity of their customers to a much greater degree than have in my case. I believe that this is also fraud on - - part and grossly irresponsible. Why is it my responsibility to clean up their mess ... because they did not do a good job of verifying their customer. I would like to file a complaint against both - - and AFNI.
